Classical Probabilities

The study of probability originated with games of chance involving dice and cards, where there were many outcomes, all equally likely.

To find probabilities in such settings, we often divide the number of possibilities we are interested in by the total number of possible outcomes.

Unfortunately, this does not work when some outcomes are more likely than others.
